Outside of work, Nicole embraces Colorado living—whether she’s carving fresh powder, hiking a new trail, or nurturing her garden oasis.

Mark McDonough, Purchasing

Some people recognize a good thing when they see it, and Mark is one of them. He first joined Sheffield in high school, then returned during college breaks, building lasting connections. Years later, he came back once more—this time to stay—as our Purchasing Manager. A spreadsheet wizard and recipient of the MAME award for Purchasing Professional of the Year, Mark brings 27 years of construction expertise to streamline bidding and deliver precise client budgets. When he’s not crunching numbers, he’s out adventuring with his dog, Maverick.

Crystal Lazaroff,

Accounting

Keeping Sheffield’s financial gears running smoothly and always balancing the books, Crystal is the mastermind behind the numbers as head of our Accounting Department. Whether it’s preparing financial statements, managing vendor payments, or compiling construction draws, she keeps us up to date, on time, and running without a hitch. She may seem soft-spoken, but hand her a pickleball paddle, and it’s game on—she brings the heat when the match begins.

Jason Schneider, Construction

Jason’s journey with Sheffield began at just 15, when he joined the team as a superintendent’s laborer. Several years (and jobs) later, he’s now our Construction Manager, overseeing smooth day-to-day jobsite operations and keeping the warranty program on track. What he enjoys most? Watching each home come to life—from the earliest designs to final walkthroughs. Off the clock, Jason brings the same sense of order to his personal life, finding satisfaction in a freshly detailed car, a well-kept home, or an under-par golf score.

Denise Wood, Sales and Marketing

As Sheffield’s only fully remote team member, Denise logs in daily from Meridian, Idaho. With over 12 years at Sheffield, she’s worn many hats and now serves on the Marketing and Sales team—managing social media, client contracts, and the Beyond the Build program. While crafting compelling content is her 9-to-5 passion, off-hours are filled with sewing, baking, and binge-watching BBC crime dramas. And when she visits Colorado, coworkers know to expect homemade Monster Cookies—because Denise never shows up empty-handed.

Darrin Haymond, Finished Basements

Collaborative, optimistic, and methodical. These three words sum up Darrin's approach to his role as head of Finished Basement Sales at Sheffield. Known for his kind smile and personable demeanor, he brings over 20 years of construction experience, and his uncommon attention to detail translates well to basement design. Darrin enjoys working with clients to bring their design visions to life. In his off-hours, you'll find him on the tennis court and spending time with his family.

Joyce Dorny, Purchasing

Joyce has never met a closet, office, or kitchen that she couldn’t systematically organize in a life-changing way. In her five years at Sheffield, she has put those skills to use by implementing systems to streamline everything from office storage to client selections. As a Purchasing Agent, she works with clients on the front end of their projects, making sure that the necessary details are in place long before construction begins. If you ask her about her own dream home, she’ll tell you it’s a cottage on a beach.

Mariana Nani Laws, Purchasing

With thirteen years of experience and one of the most diverse project portfolios on the team, Mariana brings deep expertise to her role as Purchasing Specialist. From luxury homes for pro athletes overseas to high-profile U.S. projects like the Federal Reserve and Colorado Convention Center, she knows the ins and outs of custom building. Mariana finds real joy in helping clients bring their dreams to life—beautifully and within budget. Want to make her day? Lemon meringue pie and a Lord of the Rings marathon will do the trick.

Amelia Valdez, Purchasing

Amelia is the behind-the-scenes hero who keeps projects on track—managing vendor payments, monitoring job expenses, and supporting clients through the back-end of their building journey. With a strong accounting background, she brings sharp attention to detail and expert multitasking to every project. She finds it especially rewarding to see the finished home come to life from the numbers on paper. Outside the office, she enjoys the Colorado lifestyle—hiking and gardening with her daughter.

Megan Dorny, Office Administration

Every office needs a Commander—and at Sheffield, that’s Megan. From the front desk, her cheerful smile welcomes everyone who walks through the door, all while she keeps the day-to-day running smoothly behind the scenes. A true jack-of-all-trades, Megan handles everything from phone calls and supply orders to party planning and minor tech fixes. She’s a Gen Z-ennial powerhouse who holds the office together with skill and good humor. Want to thank her? A pint of Ben & Jerry’s Tonight Dough is the way to her heart.

Felipe Covarrubias, Construction

Life as a field superintendent is fast-paced, but Felipe finds calm in the early morning quiet—time to plan, focus, and set the tone for the day. Known for his commitment to fine craftsmanship and high standards, he stays positive under pressure and always finds a way forward. Now in his fourth year with Sheffield, Felipe values the strong sense of family that runs through the company. As a proud dad of two young kids, he hopes to lead by example—showing them that with hard work, heart, and dedication, anything is possible.

Lee Bridgewater, Construction

With over 50 years in the construction industry, Lee brings a legacy of craftsmanship and leadership to Sheffield. He launched his career running his own custom home building company, later honing his skills with several top-tier luxury builders. Now, he leads construction on our newest homes in Grand County, sharing his unmatched expertise and deep industry knowledge. Known for his warm smile, signature black Stetson, and distinguished silver beard, Lee is a standout presence on-site—bringing confidence, character, and a passion for building excellence.

Jim Schneider, Construction

Jim is a personable field superintendent who originally worked for Sheffield back in the 1990s and returned years later with even more experience and dedication. Known for his friendly approach and strong communication, he listens closely to clients and ensures their homes are built with care and attention to detail. Buyers love working with Jim for his steady presence and genuine commitment to quality. When he’s not on-site, Jim enjoys the Colorado outdoors—often hunting, fishing, or spending time in the mountains he calls home.
